Why Connect Xero
Before you can upload invoices, receipts and bills to Luca you must first establish a connection to Xero. This will allow Luca to sync your suppliers and account codes which are useful for the classification and extraction steps of invoice processing. Moreover, with an active Xero connection Luca is able to publish your invoices to Xero as draft bills to pay.
How To Connect
1. Once logged into Luca, head to the 'Connections' tab at the top of your screen
2. From here, press 'Create Your First Connection' and select 'Connect to Xero'
3. You will be redirected to Xero where you can use the drop down to select a Xero Organization that you would like to connect to your Luca client.
4. When you are returned to Luca, you can select the relevant Xero Organization from the list that you would like to connect to this specific Luca client.
5. You're now connected! Luca will handle all the complexity in the background to ensure account codes and suppliers are retrieved. You can always delete your Xero connection from this Connections page and add a new one if you like.
Other Xero Integration Notes
Luca is built to support bills only and not sales invoices so the account codes we will use to classify invoices and display are only ever related to expenses and outgoing invoices / costs and not sales related account codes.
Luca will look to select a Supplier from Xero when extracting details from an invoice. In some cases this may be a Supplier that has not yet been created in Xero so Luca can handle the creation of new Xero Contacts (suppliers) to make this easier.
The country of your client (either UK or US) will dictate what VAT/Tax Rate options are shown on an invoice page so please ensure your client country in Luca matches the country of the connected Xero Organization.
