Will my Luggers disconnect or connect my appliances?

Luggers are not able to disconnect or connect appliances. Appliances need to be disconnected, drained, and ready to go before your crew arrives. Here's how to prepare.

No — Luggers are not able to disconnect or connect appliances. Disconnecting and connecting appliances often involves gas lines, plumbing, or electrical work that requires a licensed professional or specialist.

Your Luggers will move and transport your appliances once they're ready to go. Just make sure everything is prepped before your crew arrives.

How to prepare your appliances

  • Refrigerators and freezers — unplug at least 24 hours before your Lugg to allow time to defrost, and drain any water lines

  • Washers — disconnect water supply hoses, drain any remaining water, and secure the drum (check your manual for transit bolts)

  • Dryers — unplug electric dryers or have a professional disconnect gas dryers. Clean the lint trap and detach the vent hose

  • Dishwashers — disconnect the water supply and drain line, and run a short cycle to clear any remaining water

  • Stoves and ranges — electric stoves just need to be unplugged. Gas stoves must be disconnected by a licensed professional

If you're not comfortable disconnecting appliances yourself, we recommend hiring a local specalist or appliance technician to handle it before your Lugg.
