How to Create Templates in Lupa Notes

Create personal or shared templates in Settings to format AI-generated notes from transcriptions—saving time and ensuring consistency.

Updated over 4 months ago

Templates help you generate consistent, structured consultation notes from transcriptions—whether for client summaries, clinical records, or internal documentation.

Where Templates Live

Templates can be created at two levels:

  • Personal Templates
Only visible to you. Great for testing formats or using styles unique to your workflow.

  • Store-Level Templates
Shared with your entire team. Best for standardised note formats across your practice.
Only admins or users with permissions can create these.

Pro Tip: For team-wide consistency, use store-level templates.

How to Create a Template

1. Go to Settings
From the main menu, navigate to the Settings page.

2. Scroll to Templates
Find the Templates section where all existing templates are listed.

3. Choose Visibility
Decide if this template should be personal or store-level.

4. Click the ‘+’ Button
Click the plus icon to start a new template.

5. Build Your Template

  • Give it a clear name.

  • Add the structure and content style you want.

  • Include headings, placeholders, or common phrases.

The AI Assistant will follow this format when generating notes from transcriptions.

When to Use Templates

Templates are applied during thread creation in a consult.
Instead of writing notes from scratch, you can apply a saved template to quickly format the output—saving time and keeping your notes consistent.
