Why Is the Regular Add to Cart Button Still Showing on Preorder Products with Magical Preorder?

Check the active rule and app embed, then test the main Add to Cart button on standard or custom product pages.

If the regular Add to Cart button remains on a product that should be on preorder, check the active rule and theme setup.

  1. Confirm that the product and selected variant match an enabled preorder rule and its current stage.

  2. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and open the editor for your live theme.

  3. Open App embeds and enable Magical Preorder.

  4. If you previously used Fortescue Preorder Pro, disable its old embed.

  5. Save, then reload the product page and test the selected variant and quantity.

Custom themes and page builders

Version 2.3.22 adds placement beside a visible main Add to Cart button on supported product pages that do not use a standard cart form. The app hides that button when the preorder stage requires it. Product cards, quick-add buttons, and recommendations are not used for this placement.

No new setting is required. If the preorder button is missing or both buttons remain visible after these checks, contact support with the product URL and theme name. Custom layouts can still require a compatibility check.

This update applies to the current Magical Preorder app. Dynamic checkout buttons such as Buy Now and Shop Pay still bypass the normal preorder Add to Cart flow.
