Teachers can:
Set a student’s translation language
Lock the language so students cannot change it
Students can also choose their own preferred language during assignments or through their account settings.
Option 1: Teachers Set and Lock a Translation Language
Teachers can assign a translation language for individual students and optionally lock the setting.
Step 1: Open the Students Tab
Go to the Students tab.
Select your class.
Find the student you want to update.
Click the three dots (...) next to the student’s name.
Step 2: Open Support Settings
Select Support Settings from the menu.
Step 3: Choose a Translation Language
Open the Translation Language dropdown.
Scroll or use the search bar to find the desired language.
Select the language you want to assign.
Optional: Lock the Translation Language
Teachers can lock the translation language to prevent students from changing it during assignments.
This is especially helpful for:
multilingual classrooms
immersion programs
language support accommodations
standardized testing environments
Student Experience
Once enabled, students can click the globe icon in the top-left corner of an assignment to activate translations. Problems and instructions will appear in the selected language.
Option 2: Students Choose Their Own Translation Language
Students can also set their preferred language independently.
Via Account Settings
Open the Account tab.
Select a preferred language.
During an Assignment
Click the globe icon in the top-left corner of the assignment.
Select a language from the menu.
The assignment will automatically translate into the selected language.
Additional Notes:
Translation settings can be updated at any time.
If a teacher has locked the translation language, students will not be able to change it themselves.
Translations apply to problem text and instructions throughout the assignment.
