Tagging Problems with Standards in Magma Math

Teachers can tag standards when creating or editing problems in Magma Math. Tagging standards connects custom problems to Magma’s analytics and reporting tools, making it easier to track student progress and standards mastery across assignments.

Why Standards Tagging Matters

When standards are tagged to a problem, Magma can include that problem in:

  • assignment analytics

  • standards-based progress tracking

  • student performance reporting

  • class and skill-level insights

This allows custom teacher-created content to work seamlessly alongside existing Magma problems.

How to Tag a Standard

  1. Open Create Problem or edit an existing problem.

  2. Select Tag Standard while editing the problem.

  3. Choose the appropriate standard from the list.

  4. Save the problem.

What Happens Next?

Once a standard is tagged, the problem will appear in assignment statistics and standards-based reporting.

This helps teachers monitor student understanding and make more informed instructional decisions.
