Once your pupils have started working on an assignment, you can use the Heatmap to monitor their progress. The heatmap updates in real-time, so you can quickly identify any problems they’re struggling with and address them on the spot. Here's how it works:
Go to the Heatmap
Click anywhere on the white space of the assignment to view the results.
The Heatmap
The Heatmap will show you how the students are doing. The heatmap fills in based on how much work the students have completed, and it updates in real-time.
What do the colours and symbols mean?
Green = Correct on the first try
Yellow = Two or more attempts to get it right
Red = Incorrect answer
Eye = The pupil has viewed the answer
Grey = Solutions not yet submitted
Number = The number of times a pupil has submitted an answer
This provides you with a clear view of which pupils found the questions easy (e.g., Casey, who may benefit from more challenging questions) and which ones struggled (e.g., Isla, who may need more practice on certain questions). By examining specific questions, you can also identify areas where the entire class needs more practice.
Other features in the Heatmap
To change the heatmap display order, click the sort button.
Click the question number box at the top of the Heatmap to see all the pupils' solutions and answers for that specific question.
Click on a pupil’s name in the Heatmap to see all of their answers and solutions for every question in the assignment.
Click on an individual cell to view a specific pupil's solution for a particular question. For example, if you want to see Casey's solution for question #4, find her name in the Heatmap and check her answer.
To anonymise the data, click the hat and glasses icon to hide pupils' names.
You’ll notice that anonymous mode is on, hiding pupils’ names, but you can still see their results. To hide the results and only display pupil IDs, click the checkmark icon in the top right corner. All results will appear in blue, showing only "pupil #1" and so on.
In the bottom-right corner, you can play back a pupil’s solution.
To the left of the solution, you’ll see two icons:
The Solve button allows you to solve the question.
The flag icon lets you report an error with the solution.
Common error refers to the recurring mistakes in the pupil solutions.
