From the heatmap, teachers can freeze an assignment. All pupils currently in that assignment will have their screens frozen.

  • The freeze will automatically lift after 15 minutes if the teacher hasn’t manually un-frozen the pupils. This prevents screens from staying frozen if the teacher forgets.

  • Pupils cannot interact with anything on their screen while frozen, even if they navigate away from the assignment.

How to use Freeze

In the Assignments tab, click on the assignment to open the heatmap and click on the Snowflake icon.

Pupils’ screens will immediately lock. To unfreeze manually, click Unfreeze at any time. Otherwise, the freeze will lift automatically after 15 minutes.

Availability:

Pupil: iPad app version 3.39.0 and above

Teacher: Web only (coming soon on iPad app)

Note: We are also working on showing when a pupil has been frozen in another assignment.
