Accessing Practice Mode

From your Magma Maths dashboard, click Practice in the left-hand menu.
Here, you’ll see the same skill cards your pupils have access to, including recommended skills and the full content library.

Setting Up Practice for Pupils

You can control which skills pupils see by adjusting access.

  • Lock or unlock specific years to ensure pupils are practicing the right content.

  • Apply these settings to individual pupils or your entire class with one click.

This helps you tailor the practice experience to each pupil’s needs.

Tracking Pupil Progress

Pupils earn stars based on their accuracy for each Practice Mode card:

  • 1 star: 50–69% correct

  • ⭐⭐ 2 stars: 70–89% correct

  • ⭐⭐⭐ 3 stars: 90–100% correct

In the Teacher Dashboard, you can:

  • View each pupil’s star ratings

  • See which skills they’ve practiced

  • Monitor growth over time

  • Identify pupils who may need extra support or additional review

Reinforcing Skills

Use assignment and quiz results to quickly identify skills pupils struggled with.

From the Practice tab, you can:

  • Recommend specific skills to individual pupils , small groups, or your entire class

  • Send targeted practice that helps pupils review and strengthen key concepts

  • Support mastery by encouraging pupils to revisit skills as needed
