Why Skills Tagging Matters

Many teachers like to create and upload their own problems tailored to their students’ needs. However, if these problems aren’t linked to skills, they can’t fully benefit from Magma’s other features, like viewing student progress, analysing assignment performance, or making data-driven decisions. With skills tagging, every problem can contribute to class and student analytics. This helps you see exactly how your students are progressing across skills and skills.

How to Tag a Skill

  1. Open Magma Maths and navigate to Create or Edit Problem.

  2. While editing the problem, select the Tag Skill option.

  3. Choose the appropriate skill from the list.

  4. Save the problem.

Once a skill is tagged, it will appear in assignment stats, allowing you to track student progress on that specific skill and make informed instructional decisions.
