How to Edit or Delete an Asset Template

Learn how to edit or delete asset templates in Asset Hub, including steps to update template details or remove templates with or without associated assets.

Editing an Asset Template

  1. Navigate to Asset Hub > Asset Templates and open the template you want to edit.

  2. In the General Information section, click the pencil (edit) icon to open a pop-up for editing.

  3. You can update the following information:

    • Image: Upload a new image or delete/replace the existing one.

    • Template Title: Update the template name.

      Note: Updating the template title will not change the names of assets that were already created using this template.

    • Template ID: Update the template ID.

  4. Click “Update” to save your changes.


Deleting an Asset Template from the Template Detail Page

  1. Navigate to Asset Hub > Asset Templates and open the template you want to delete.

  2. In the General Information section, click the pencil (edit) icon.

  3. Click on “Delete Asset Template”.

Note: If there are assets created from the template, you must delete all associated assets before deleting the template. The “Delete Asset Template” button will be disabled until then.


Deleting an Asset Template from the Templates List Page

  1. Navigate to Asset Hub > Asset Templates.

  2. Locate or search for the template you wish to delete.

  3. Click the bin (delete) icon on the right side of the “Created Assets” column.

Note: If there are assets created from the template, the bin icon will be disabled. Hovering over the icon will show a tooltip indicating that you must delete all associated assets first.
