Navigate to Work Orders under CMMS.
Click the + Add New Work Order button in the top-right corner.
A right-hand drawer will open with a customisable work order form.
Work Order Types
Work orders in Makula are categorised into customisable types that define form structure and visibility:
Internal — Visible only to your internal team.
Default internal types:
Service Request
Spare Part Order
Additional work order types can be created and configured in Settings > Work Order Types.
Work Order Creation Form
Form fields may vary by work order type. Core fields include:
Choose Work Order Type (Required)
Select from available internal or external types.Select Connection (Required)
Choose the connection.Asset Type (Required)
Select the asset category.Select Asset (Required)
Choose the specific asset (only assets assigned to the selected connection will appear).Select Contact (Optional)
Pick a contact from the connection.Work Order Title (Required)
Provide a clear, descriptive title.Work Order Description (Optional)
Add any additional details or service instructions.Custom Fields (Optional)
Depending on the work order type, additional fields like single-select dropdowns or spare parts lists may appear.
Note: Admins can configure which fields appear per work order type in Settings.
Submitting the Work Order
Once all required fields are filled out:
Click Create Work Order.
The new work order will appear at the top of the Work Order List under CMMS > Work Orders.
Customising Work Order Forms
Admins can tailor the form layout and fields for each work order type:
Go to Settings > Work Order Types under Work Management.
Select the work order type.
Edit the fields and sections to align with workflows.
