Overview

Creating custom Work Order Types gives you flexibility to adapt the work order creation process to your organisation’s needs. You can control how work orders appear, which fields are required, and whether customers can view or create them.

Create a New Work Order Type

Steps:

  1. Click + Add New Type.

  2. Enter a unique name for the Work Order Type.

  3. Choose an icon and colour for easy identification.

  4. Set visibility:

    • External Type (default – toggle OFF):

      • Work orders will be visible to customers in the Requests section under Asset Hub.

      • Customers can also create work orders for this type.

      • External types are marked with a globe icon.

    • Internal Type (toggle ON):

      • Work orders are only visible internally and cannot be seen or created by customers.

  5. Click Save to create the new Work Order Type.

Edit Work Order Types

Steps:

  1. In the Work Order Types section, click the pencil icon next to the type.

  2. You will see two options:

1. Edit Work Order Type

  • Update the name, icon, and color.

  • Click Update to save changes.

2. Edit Work Order Form

  • Description Field: Change the label and set it as required if needed.

  • Parts Section: Rename and mark as required if desired.

  • Custom Fields:

    • Toggle ON to include work order custom fields.

    • Set fields as required if needed.

  • Click Save Configuration to apply changes.

Note: Changes apply to all existing work orders using this type.

Delete Work Order Types

Steps:

  1. Click the bin icon next to the Work Order Type.

  2. If work orders exist under this type:

    • You will be prompted to migrate them to another existing Work Order Type.

    • Internal types can only be migrated to other internal types, and external types to external types.

  3. Click Confirm to proceed.
