What is a Work Order?

A work order in Makula is a structured request used to manage maintenance, repairs, inspections, or the supply of parts and services. It records key information such as:

  • Type of work required

  • The requester

  • The asset (machine) involved

  • The connection (customer) for which the work is being done

Work orders centralise service requests, ensure clear responsibilities, and track progress from creation to completion.

Why Use Work Orders?

  • Organisation: Centralises all maintenance and service tasks in one system.

  • Prioritisation: Allows prioritisation of tasks based on urgency and importance.

  • Accountability: Assigns responsibility to team members or service engineers.

  • Tracking: Monitors task progress and maintains historical records.

Key Benefits of the Work Order Feature

  • Efficiency: Simplifies the work request and task assignment process.

  • Visibility: Tracks the real-time status of all work orders.

  • Accountability: Ensures tasks are assigned and monitored.

  • Data Insights: Enables reporting and analysis of work order data for performance improvements.

  • Reporter: User who submitted the request (from the connection’s users).

  • Assignee: Internal team member responsible for the task.
