Using the Chats

Learn how to interact with AI Assistants, maintain chat history, and view document references using the Chats page in Industrial AI.

Overview

The Chats page in Industrial AI allows users to engage with AI Assistants, view conversation history, and receive more refined answers as the chat progresses.


Default Assistant and Pre-Configured Questions

  • The Tesla Assistant (demo assistant) is selected by default when you open the page.

  • Pre-configured sample questions are available only for the demo assistant.

  • A banner at the top indicates you are chatting with a demo assistant.


Selecting Assistants

  • Click the dropdown menu at the top to switch assistants.

  • Two tabs are available:

    • My Assistants: AI Assistants created by your organisation.

    • Shared Assistants: AI Assistants shared with you by other organisations.

  • Select an assistant and start chatting instantly.


Chat History and Context

  • Once you send your first message, a chat history is created.

  • The assistant refines responses based on ongoing context.

  • The AI responds in the language you use, supporting multi-language interactions.


Viewing References

  • AI responses include reference numbers.

  • Clicking a reference number opens a right-hand sidebar showing the document section used to generate the answer, with the relevant text highlighted.


Chat History Management

Click the Chat History button (top left) to view saved conversations.

For each saved chat:

  • Edit Chat Name: Rename for easier reference.

  • Delete Chat: Remove the chat (confirmation required).

  • View Assistant: Opens the assistant’s detail view (only for My Assistants).


Refining Conversations

As conversations continue, the assistant builds on the previous context, making answers increasingly accurate and relevant.
