Overview of the Chat Feature
The chat feature in Makula allows seamless, real-time communication directly within a work order. You can:
Chat in Real Time: Engage in live conversations with customers or internal team members.
Share Documents and Images: Exchange important files without relying on external platforms.
Tag Users: Mention other team members (with access to the work order) in conversations.
Centralise Communication: View both chat and email interactions in one place.
Enhance Customer Support: Provide timely updates and assistance.
Accessing the Chat Section
Open a work order.
The Chat Section appears on the right side of the Work Order detail view.
Tip: You can minimise the chat section by clicking the X in the top-right corner and maximise it again by clicking the messaging button in the top-right corner of the work order.
Chat Tabs
The chat section includes three tabs:
1. External Chat
Chat with connection users (customers) if a connection has been established.
Real-time messaging.
Share documents and images (up to 50 MB per file).
Tag internal users who also have access to the work order.
2. Internal Chat
Communicate with your internal team.
Tag team members to notify them or assign follow-ups.
Share internal-only documents and images.
3. Email
View all emails linked to the work order.
Compose and send new emails directly from this tab.
Track ongoing email conversations.
Starting a Chat Conversation
Click the input text field at the bottom of the chat window.
Type your message.
Click the send icon ( > ) to deliver the message.
Note: External chats are only available if a connection exists with the selected connection.
Sharing Documents and Images
Click the pin icon.
Select the document or image you wish to share.
Maximum file size is 50 MB.
Both internal and external participants can share attachments, depending on their chat access.
Notifications
If a new chat message arrives, a red dot notification appears on the Work Order.
That work order will automatically move to the top of the Work Order list to ensure it’s easy to find.
