What is a work order in Makula?
A work order is a structured record used to manage maintenance, repairs, inspections, or service tasks. It captures essential information including the type of work required, the requester, the asset involved, and the company the work relates to.
Work orders centralise your service operations, assign clear responsibilities, and track progress from creation through to completion.
Why use work orders?
Work orders provide several benefits for managing field service operations:
Organisation: Centralises all service and maintenance tasks in one system
Accountability: Assigns responsibility to specific team members or maintenance engineers
Tracking: Monitors task progress and maintains a complete service history
What information does a work order contain?
When you open a work order, the Overview tab displays the following details:
Work Order ID: Unique identifier for the work order
Created Date: When the work order was raised
Reporter: The user who submitted the request
Assignee: The team member responsible for completing the task
Scheduled Date and Time: When the work should be performed (this also appears in the Calendar view)
How do I access work orders in CMMS?
Select your CMMS workspace from the workspace selector in the top left corner.
Click Work Orders in the sidebar.
Browse, filter, or search to find specific work orders.
