The Analytics Feature in Makula, provides users with the ability to generate insightful reports based on Work Orders, Machines, and Facilities. This new and improved update enables enhanced reporting capabilities, including advanced filtering, customisation options, and interactive charts.
Creating a Report
Accessing the Analytics Page:
Navigate to the Analytics section from the main side menu.
Creating a New Report:
Click on the Create Report button located in the top-right corner of the Analytics page.
A right drawer will appear with three available options:
Work Orders
Machines
Facilities
Select the type of report you wish to create, then click the Create Report button.
Renaming the Report:
After creating a report, you can rename it by clicking the pencil icon next to the report name.
Type the new name and confirm the action by clicking the tick icon. To cancel the renaming, click the cross icon.
Saving or Discarding Report:
After customising your report, click the Save Changes button at the top of the page to save your work.
If you no longer wish to keep the changes, click the Discard Changes button to remove the report.
Managing Saved Reports
Saved reports will appear on the Analytics page as individual cards.
Opening and Editing a Report:
To open the detailed view of a report or make edits, click the arrow icon in the top-right corner of the report card.
Once in the detailed view, any modifications will trigger the Save Changes and Discard Changes buttons in the top-right corner.
Click Save Changes to save edits or Discard Changes to cancel them.
Duplicating or Deleting a Report:
In the detailed view of the report, click on the ellipsis (⋮) in the top-right corner to open a dropdown menu.
To duplicate a report, select Duplicate Report, provide a new name, and click Save Report.
To delete a report, select Delete Report, then confirm by clicking Yes, Delete in the confirmation popup.
Chart Types
There are five available chart types in the Makula Analytics feature:
Vertical Bar Chart:
The x-axis shows the number of Facilities, Work Orders, or Machines, based on the report type.
The y-axis displays data from any selected single-select custom fields or module-specific fields.
Segmenting: The chart can be segmented using a dropdown menu at the top, displaying data labels on the right with colour indicators and total occurrences for each segment.
Horizontal Bar Chart:
Functions similarly to the Vertical Bar Chart, but the position x-axis and y-axis are switched.
Segmenting and Interactive Chart Navigation features are available, just like in the Vertical Bar Chart.
Pie Chart:
Displays the distribution of the selected attribute within Facilities, Work Orders, or Machines as pie slices, with data labels on the right showing colours and total occurrences of the attribute.
Number Chart:
Shows a simple total count of Machines, Work Orders, or Facilities.
Table Chart:
Displays a table containing detailed information based on the selected module.
Users can customise which columns are visible by clicking on the settings wheel icon. By default, all columns are displayed.
Interactive Chart Navigation
For both Vertical and Horizontal Bar Charts, the following interactive features are available:
Zooming: Users can zoom in and out of the chart by scrolling.
Panning: Users can click and drag to pan around the chart.
Reset Zoom: To reset the chart to its original view, click on the Reset Zoom button in the bottom-left corner of the chart.
These interactive features are available in both the report page and when viewing the reports displayed as cards on the Analytics page.
Filtering Reports
Reports can be refined using multiple filters, enabling users to narrow down the data displayed to suit their specific analysis needs. Filters can be applied to any report type (Work Orders, Machines, or Facilities).
Data Drilldown
For Bar and Pie Charts, segmenting a chart will open a pop-up table displaying detailed data for the selected segment. Clicking on a row in the table will open the corresponding Machine, Work Order, or Facility for further inspection.
Users can export the data in this drilldown view for additional external analysis.

Edit existing reports
View reports
Delete reports
This ensures that only authorised personnel can create and manage reports in Makula Analytics
