Join Live Session

Anyone or any device can scan ID cards by downloading the scanner app and using the Join Live Session feature with a coach present.

Anyone or any device that downloads the scanner app can help scan ID cards by using the Join Live Session feature.

A coach must be present to allow volunteers or use additional devices to help scan ID cards.

Devices need WiFi or cellular service to get devices to join the live session but not to scan ID cards.

NOTE: When everyone is done scanning, all devices need to click Stop Live Scanning, Finish and Sync, and wait for the green check mark.

  1. On the main device, log into your account on the mobile app.

  2. Locate your Run club, and click Run.

  3. Select the Track/Activity, click Run

  4. Tap Start Live Scanning.

  5. After the 5-second countdown, tap the QR Code in the right corner of the scanning window to allow volunteers to scan and join.

  1. Download the mobile app

  2. Click Join Live Session

  3. Scan the QR code shared on the Coach's device

  4. Begin scanning after the 5-second countdown

NOTE: When everyone is done scanning, all devices need to click Stop Live Scanning, Finish and Sync, and wait for the green check mark.


Troubleshooting the Join Live Session Feature

Note: WiFi or cellular data is required while the main device is sharing the QR code and the additional devices are scanning the Join Live QR code. After the devices are joined, you don't need WiFi to scan ID cards.

If you receive an "Invalid Token" error message follow these steps to be successful:

Join Live Session Token Expired:

This error message occurs on the device that is trying to Join a Live session.

It is caused by not having WiFi or cellular service when trying to join on that device.

As well as a false message at times.

The coach who started the initial session will:

  • Stop the live session

  • Start a new live session

  • Then share the new QR to Join a Live Session again

The device that is trying to Join a Live Session will:

  • Click the back arrow in the left corner

  • Check for WiFi or cell service.

  • Then click Join Live Session to scan the new QR code the main coach provides.
