If you want to apply different styles according to some condition of the work, you can toggle the "Dynamic style." Once turned on, you can choose a dropdown field from this template, and assign a different style to each of the dropdown value.
To assign dynamic styles:
Go to Settings, Templates, Work, and choose a template.
Inside the work template, click "Template Settings"
On the right of the panel, turn on "Location"
Turn on "Dynamic style"
Then, choose a dropdown field that you want to associate dynamic styles with. In the following example, the "Status" dropdown is selected, and the first choice of "Open" is associated with a white flag icon, and the next choice of "Closed" is assigned with a green flag icon:
Later, when user creates a work item using this template, the work icon will automatically be matching the associated style.
