Overview
Maxanet lets you disable a bidder's bidding privileges to immediately stop them from placing new bids, with optional actions to delete any bids they are currently winning and automatically email them a Bidding Suspended notice. Disabling bidding is reversible — you can re-enable bidding for the same user at any time. This article covers how to disable bidding (with all options), how the deleted-winning-bids and automated-email settings work, and how to restore a bidder's access.
How to disable bidding for a specific bidder
From your Maxanet Admin panel, open the Users page and search for the bidder. On the far-right of the bidder's row you will see a 3-dot Actions menu. Click the 3 dots and select Disable Bidding from the dropdown. Maxanet opens a pop-up window with two options that are both checked by default.
What the two disable-bidding options actually do
Delete All current winning bids for this bidder — if this option stays checked, Maxanet removes every bid (current max bids too) this user is currently winning. The second-highest bidder on each of those items is immediately promoted into the winning position. Leave this box checked when you are disabling a bidder because they are not going to pay — their wins should transfer to the next bidder in line. Uncheck it if you want to disable bidding going forward but leave their existing winning bids in place.
Send the Bidding Suspended email — if this option stays checked, Maxanet sends the bidder the automated Bidder: Bidding Suspended email, which you can customize under Admin → Configurations → Email Templates. Uncheck this box if you want to disable the bidder silently without an automatic notification.
Click the green Proceed button after making your selections. The bidder's bidding privileges are immediately disabled and a red Bidding Off label appears next to their name on the Users page.
How to restore a bidder's bidding privileges
To re-enable bidding for a previously disabled bidder, open the Users page, find the bidder, and either: (1) click the 3-dot Actions menu and select Enable Bidding, or (2) click the user number to open the bidder profile and use the Disable/Enable Bidding toggle switch on the lower-right side of the profile screen. The bidder can immediately start placing new bids again.

Common questions
What happens to the items a bidder was winning when I disable their bidding?
If you leave 'Delete All current winning bids' checked, Maxanet removes their winning and max bids and promotes the next-highest bidder on each item. If you uncheck it, their existing wins stay in place but they cannot place new bids.
Will the bidder know their bidding was disabled?
Only if 'Send the Bidding Suspended email' was checked when you disabled them. Uncheck that box to disable silently.
Can I customize the Bidding Suspended email that gets sent?
Yes. Edit the 'Bidder: Bidding Suspended' email template under Admin → Configurations → Email Templates to control the subject and body text.
Is disabling bidding reversible?
Yes. Use the Enable Bidding option from the 3-dot Actions menu or the toggle switch in the bidder profile to restore access at any time.
Do I have to delete winning bids auction by auction for a deadbeat bidder?
If you use the Disable Bidding pop-up with 'Delete all current winning bids' checked, Maxanet deletes them across every active auction at once. See also the Delete Bidder's Current Winning Bids article for the Activity-tab alternative.
