Overview

MaxanetPay is Maxanet's in-house credit and debit card processing service, fully integrated into every Maxanet auction platform. MaxanetPay handles bidder card payments, invoice charging, refunds, voids, chargebacks, and in-person card swipes, and is managed by Fullsteam, Maxanet's parent company payments division.

Important: MaxanetPay is the only credit card processor that integrates with the Maxanet software. Maxanet does not currently integrate with Stripe, Square, Authorize.net, PayPal, or any other third-party processor. If you want to accept credit card payments for bidder invoices inside Maxanet, you must apply for and use MaxanetPay.

This article covers how to sign up for MaxanetPay, what happens during the application and approval process, prohibited items and business types, the Merchant Track dashboard, when processing proceeds reach your bank account, and how to handle chargebacks.

What you need to know before applying for MaxanetPay

Before starting a MaxanetPay application, make sure the items you plan to sell are not on the MaxanetPay prohibited items list. The most commonly-asked restrictions are firearms (including ammunition), hunting and military knives and swords, and any cannabis items containing THC — none of these can be processed through MaxanetPay. Airsoft guns and BB guns, however, are allowed. See the full MaxanetPay: Prohibited Items article for the complete list before applying.

How to apply for a MaxanetPay account

The MaxanetPay application is an online form that takes about ten minutes to complete. Visit the Fullsteam boarding portal directly at https://boarding.fullsteampay.net/Maxanet%20Pay/en-US, create an account using your email address and a password, and fill out the application. The email address and password you set on the boarding portal become your login for the MaxanetPay application portal, where you can track the status of your application and upload supporting documents.

What happens after you submit your MaxanetPay application

Once your application is submitted, Fullsteam assigns a Payment Services representative to review it. Their review includes verifying the information on your application, running a business credit check, and scanning your public website for prohibited items or verbiage about selling prohibited items. If the representative needs more banking information, verifications, or documentation, they will email you directly from Fullsteam with a secure link to provide the requested items.

You will need to provide either a voided bank check or a bank letter that confirms the bank account and routing number MaxanetPay will use to deposit your card processing proceeds. Fullsteam will send you a secure upload link by email where you can submit the voided check or bank letter safely.

Can I run and close auctions before MaxanetPay is approved?

Yes. Your Maxanet admin registration preferences can be temporarily set to CC Not Required to Bid, which allows you to build, run, close, and invoice auctions using other payment collection methods (cash, check, or your own external card processing) while your MaxanetPay application is still in review. You do not have to wait for MaxanetPay approval to start auctioning on the Maxanet platform.

How long does MaxanetPay approval and boarding take?

MaxanetPay approval and boarding can take up to ten business days. To keep your application moving, respond promptly to any email requests from Fullsteam for additional information or documentation. You will receive an email directly from Fullsteam when your MaxanetPay account is approved and boarded. The Maxanet support team is copied on that same approval email and will then enter your Merchant ID Number into your Maxanet software admin panel and switch on the CC Required to Bid setting in your bidder registration preferences — at that point, MaxanetPay is live on your Maxanet auctions.

What is Merchant Track and where do I find it?

Once MaxanetPay is approved and your Merchant ID has been entered, a new menu selection called Merchant Track appears at the bottom of your Maxanet Admin panel. Merchant Track is the MaxanetPay transaction dashboard — from inside Merchant Track you can view every MaxanetPay transaction on your account, void pending transactions before they batch, and issue full or partial refunds on transactions that have already settled. See the How to refund or void a MaxanetPay transaction in Merchant Track article for step-by-step instructions on each action.

When will MaxanetPay processing proceeds hit my bank account?

MaxanetPay processing funds typically arrive in your bank account within two to five business days (Monday through Friday) after the transaction is processed. The bidder's card issuer funds the transaction, Fullsteam receives the payment, and Fullsteam deposits the proceeds minus processing fees into the bank account you provided during application. Weekends and bank holidays can extend this timeline slightly.

How does MaxanetPay handle credit card chargebacks?

If a bidder files a chargeback against a MaxanetPay purchase with their credit card issuing bank, Fullsteam is notified and will email you immediately with the information they need to fight the chargeback on your behalf. Strong, clear bidder Terms and Conditions are critically important for winning chargeback disputes — bidders must agree to your T&Cs to register and bid, and those agreed-to terms are used as evidence during chargeback defense. The amount of any disputed transaction will be debited against your bank account while the dispute is in progress, and released back to you if you win the dispute. Fullsteam's Payment Services team will give you a deadline for providing dispute evidence in their email — do not miss the deadline or the chargeback is automatically lost.

Common questions about MaxanetPay

Can I use Stripe, Square, PayPal, or another processor with Maxanet instead of MaxanetPay?

No. MaxanetPay is the only credit and debit card processor that integrates with the Maxanet software. Maxanet does not currently integrate with Stripe, Square, Authorize.net, PayPal, or any other third-party card processor. If you want to charge bidder cards automatically from inside Maxanet, you must use MaxanetPay.

How much does MaxanetPay cost?

MaxanetPay processing rates are set per merchant during the Fullsteam application and approval process. For specific rate information, contact the Maxanet Sales team at 972-346-5204 or ask during your Fullsteam application review.

How long does the MaxanetPay application take to complete?

The application form itself is about ten minutes. Approval and boarding can take up to ten business days after submission, depending on how quickly you respond to any follow-up requests from Fullsteam for additional documentation.

What happens if my MaxanetPay application is denied?

If Fullsteam cannot approve your MaxanetPay application (for example, because your business type or items are on the prohibited list), contact Fullsteam Payment Services directly at payments.support@fullsteam.com or 334-329-6775 (option 4, then option 2) to discuss next steps. You can still run and invoice auctions on Maxanet using the CC Not Required to Bid mode with other payment collection methods.

Can I process in-person card swipe transactions with MaxanetPay?

Yes. MaxanetPay supports in-person credit card swipe transactions using a MagTek USB card reader and the MagneFlex browser. See the Card Swipe / In Person MaxanetPay transactions article for installation and setup instructions.

Do I need to pay a setup fee to start MaxanetPay?

Setup and recurring fees depend on your specific Fullsteam merchant agreement. Ask the Maxanet Sales team or your Fullsteam representative for exact fee information during application.
