How Maxanet's Master-Partner account relationship works — affiliate sellers with shared bidder base

Maxanet Master-Partner lets affiliate sellers have their own admin panel and auctions while sharing the Master account's bidder base.

Overview

Maxanet's optional Master-Partner account relationship is for clients looking to expand their business and auction presence by bringing in affiliate sellers. A Partner account gets its own Maxanet admin panel where they can create auctions, load inventory, manage bidders, and do their own invoicing — while the Master account keeps control of the bidder list (which is hidden from partners for security), and all Partner auctions display alongside Master auctions on a shared public calendar.

How the Master-Partner relationship works at a high level

Any existing Maxanet account can request one or more Partner accounts. Some clients have up to a dozen partners. Each Partner account receives their own Maxanet admin panel with their own unique username and password. Partners log in, create and manage their own auctions, and handle their own invoicing. Any auction created by a Partner is sent to the Master account's admin panel for approval. Once the Master approves the Partner's auction, it becomes visible on the Master's public website calendar alongside the Master's own auctions.

Why the bidder list is hidden from Partner accounts

The Master account's User/bidder list is hidden from Partner accounts. This is a security and business-value protection — your bidder database is one of the most valuable assets in your auction business, and sharing it with affiliate partners would undermine your competitive position. Bidders can use the same bidder number and password to place bids on both Master and Partner auctions, so from the bidder's perspective it's a seamless experience, but Partners cannot view or download the bidder list.

MaxanetPay and the Master-Partner relationship

If you use MaxanetPay, your Partner accounts can have their own independent MaxanetPay merchant accounts. This means when a Partner's auction ends and winning bidder credit cards are charged, those funds go directly into the Partner's bank account, not the Master's. This keeps financial accounting clean and lets each Partner manage their own payouts.

Advantages to the Master account

  • Provide a higher level of service to affiliate sellers by giving them direct access to the platform

  • Keep your bidder list secure — Partners cannot view or download it

  • Your User list stays protected as one of your most valuable business assets

  • Each Partner can have their own MaxanetPay account so funds flow correctly without Master involvement

  • Approve or reject Partner auctions before they become visible on your public calendar

Advantages to the Partner account

  • Start a new auction business without building a bidder base from scratch — instant access to the Master's existing bidders

  • Own admin panel with full control over your own auctions, inventory, and invoicing

  • Own MaxanetPay merchant account for independent payment processing and bank deposits

  • Leverage the Master's brand, traffic, and marketing reach

Common questions

Can Partners see the Master's bidder list?

No. The bidder list is hidden from Partner accounts to protect the Master account's valuable user database. Partners can only see bidders who bid in their own auctions, not the full list.

Do bidders need separate accounts to bid in Partner auctions?

No. Bidders use the same bidder number and password across Master and Partner auctions — the experience is seamless from the bidder's perspective.

Does the Partner account need its own MaxanetPay merchant account?

Recommended. With separate MaxanetPay accounts, credit card funds flow directly to the Partner's bank. Alternatively, the Partner can use the Master's MaxanetPay account with the understanding that funds flow to the Master.

Does the Master have to approve every Partner auction?

Yes. Partner-created auctions are sent to the Master's admin panel for approval before they become visible on the public calendar. This gives the Master quality control over what appears on their brand.

How many Partner accounts can I have?

No documented limit. Some Maxanet clients have up to a dozen Partner accounts — request as many as you need.

Is there an extra cost for Partner accounts?

Contact Maxanet support for current pricing — Partner account pricing is typically discussed during setup.
