Overview

In addition to sharing whole auctions, Maxanet lets you share individual items to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or LinkedIn. This is useful for highlighting a high-value or unusual item on social media to drive targeted traffic, or when you want to draw attention to one lot within a large auction.

How to open the Share This Item menu

Log into your Maxanet admin panel and navigate to Auctions β†’ Current Auctions (or Draft/Ended if applicable). Click the title of the auction containing the item you want to share. From the auction dashboard, click the Items tab. Find the item, click the 3-dot Actions menu next to it, and select Share This Item.

How to share to social media

The share pop-up shows icons for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. Click the icon for the platform you want. Maxanet opens the social network's share composer in a new window β€” if not already logged in, it prompts you to sign in. Compose your post and click Tweet (or the equivalent button) to publish.

How to copy or email the item link instead

The same pop-up also has Copy and Email options. Copy puts the item URL on your clipboard for pasting elsewhere (Instagram, TikTok, your own blog, SMS). Email opens your default mail client with the item URL pre-filled.

Common questions

Can I share items from draft or ended auctions?

Yes. The Share This Item action is available in Current, Draft, and Ended auctions.

What's the difference between sharing an auction and sharing an item?

Sharing an auction links to the whole auction's landing page. Sharing an item links directly to that one item's detail page β€” users arriving via the item link see that specific lot first.

Can I share multiple items at once?

No. Share This Item is per-item. For promoting a group of items, share the whole auction or use a social scheduling tool.

Does sharing an ended item still work?

Yes, though bidders landing on a closed item will see the final sale price (or that the item has ended) rather than a bid form.
