How to Reprocess a Clinical Note

Updated this week

Sometimes you may want to regenerate a clinical note with different settings -- perhaps to use a different template format or correct the transcription language. This guide explains how to use the Reprocess feature.

When to Use Reprocess

You might want to reprocess a note when:

  • The original note used the wrong template format

  • You want to apply a different clinical template (e.g., switch from a general SOAP note to a specialized veterinary template)

  • The transcription language was incorrectly detected

  • You've updated your template and want to regenerate the note with the new format

  • Processing failed: The note shows an error or failed to generate properly. Reprocessing can retry with the complete audio file.

How to Reprocess a Note

  1. Open the note you want to reprocess by clicking on it in your documents list

  2. Click the menu button (three dots ...) located in the top navigation bar of the document

  3. Select "Reprocess" from the dropdown menu

  4. Configure your reprocessing options in the modal that appears:

  5. Language: Select the language of the audio recording (English, Spanish, or French). This ensures the transcription is processed correctly.

  6. Template: Choose which template format you'd like for the clinical note. You can either keep "Use default template" to use your currently set default template, or select a specific template.

  7. Click "Reprocess" to start regenerating the note

What Happens During Reprocessing

When you reprocess a note:

  • A new clinical note is generated using your chosen template

  • The Summary, Action Points, and Clinical Note sections are all regenerated

Important: Processing time: Reprocessing typically takes 30-60 seconds depending on the length of your recording.

Troubleshooting

The note looks the same after reprocessing

  • Make sure you selected a different template or language setting. If you used the same settings, the output may be similar.

  • Try refreshing the page to see the updated content.

Reprocessing is taking too long

  • Longer recordings take more time to process. If it's been more than 2 minutes, try refreshing the page and checking if the note was updated.
