Before You Start

⚠️ Important: The Nexgo terminal must be fully charged before first use. Plug it in and let it charge completely before attempting setup. If you see a red house icon on the screen, the terminal needs more charging before it can be used.

Set Up Your Nexgo Terminal

Step 1: Turn On & Connect to Wi-Fi

  1. Hold the power button until the screen lights up.

  2. Wait for the terminal to fully power on.

  3. Swipe down on the screen and tap and hold the Wi-Fi icon.

  4. Connect to your store's Wi-Fi network.

  5. From the home screen, tap PAYAUTH Terminal.

Step 2: Connect to Your iPad via Bluetooth

  1. On the Nexgo terminal, make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

  2. On your iPad, go to Settings → Bluetooth.

  3. Select "N82" from the list of available devices to pair.

Step 3: Connect the Terminal to Meadow

  1. On your Meadow POS, scroll down the toolbar and select Debit Terminal.

  2. Tap Debit Terminals, then choose Nexgo.

  3. Enter the following info (provided by your payment processor during onboarding):

    • POS TID

    • Token (POS Key)

    • Terminal TID

  4. Tap Find.

Once the terminal is successfully connected to your payment processor, it will stay connected unless you manually click Forget.

Running a Card Payment

  1. Select "Debit" as the payment type on your Meadow POS.

  2. Tap "Get Payment."

  3. Run the customer's card on the Nexgo terminal.

  4. Once the transaction is approved, tap "Finalize Payment" on Meadow.

Troubleshooting

Red House Icon on Screen

This means the terminal needs charging. Plug it in and wait until it's fully charged before using it. Do not attempt setup until the red house icon is gone.

Terminal Won't Connect to Meadow

  1. Make sure the terminal is connected to Wi-Fi (swipe down to check).

  2. Verify Bluetooth is paired between the terminal and iPad.

  3. Double-check the POS TID, Token, and Terminal TID values — these must match exactly what your payment processor provided.

  4. Try tapping Forget in Meadow's debit terminal settings, then re-enter the credentials and tap Find again.

Error Message Requiring Key Entry

If the terminal displays an error message requiring you to enter a correct key:

  1. Enter the correct key as prompted on screen.

  2. If the error persists, contact your payment processor (PayAuth/PayNex) — they may need to remotely reboot or reconfigure the terminal.

Transaction Failing or Not Going Through

  • Confirm the terminal shows "PAYAUTH Terminal" on screen and is ready for transactions.

  • Check your Wi-Fi connection — the terminal needs internet access to process payments.

  • Try restarting the terminal (power off completely, then power back on).

  • If issues persist, contact your payment processor for support.

Terminal Frozen or Unresponsive

  • Soft restart: Press and hold the power button until the terminal restarts.

  • If the terminal is completely frozen, let the battery drain, then charge and restart.

  • Contact your payment processor if the issue continues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to charge the Nexgo terminal before I can use it?

Yes. The Nexgo N82 must be fully charged before first use. If you try to set it up while the battery is low, you may see a red house icon on the screen — this means the terminal needs more charge. Plug it in and wait until the red icon disappears before proceeding with setup.

What does the red house icon on the Nexgo terminal mean?

The red house icon indicates the battery is too low for the terminal to operate. Plug the terminal into its charger and let it charge fully. Do not attempt to set up or process transactions until the red house icon is gone and the terminal boots normally.

Can I run two Nexgo terminals on one POS register?

No. Each Meadow POS register connects to one payment terminal at a time. If you need a second terminal, you'll need a second iPad running Meadow POS with its own terminal credentials. Contact your payment processor (PayAuth/PayNex) to set up additional terminal credentials.

The terminal is showing an error that requires me to enter a key. What do I do?

This usually means the terminal needs to be reconfigured by your payment processor. Try entering the key as prompted on screen. If the error persists or you don't know the correct key, contact PayAuth/PayNex directly — they can remotely reboot or reconfigure the terminal to resolve this.

Where do I find my POS TID, Token, and Terminal TID?

These credentials are provided by your payment processor (PayNext) during onboarding. Check your onboarding email or welcome documents for these values. If you can't locate them, contact your payment processor directly and they can resend the credentials. You'll need to enter POS TID, Token (POS Key), and Terminal TID in Meadow's Debit Terminal settings to connect your Nexgo terminal.
