When a new medical customer orders, how do I verify them?

When a new medical customer orders online they must upload an ID & recommendation. View & verify these in the order or customer profile.

  • When an order comes in from a new medical customer click the Recommendation and License buttons to view the documents and confirm they are valid.

  • Click the Verify Patient button to enter the document expiration dates.

  • Once you enter the expiration dates, the system will confirm that the medical customer's recommendation and ID are current every time they place an order.

The system will flag orders from medical customers if their ID or rec is expired.

From the Verify Patient screen you can

  • View and validate the doctor's recommendation

  • View and validate a medical customer's drivers license

  • View verification information

Mark medical customer documents as invalid

What's an MMIC? 💡

An MMIC is California's county-issued Medical Marijuana Identification Card. It is different than your doctor's Medical Recommendation. If your customer has an MMIC, we recommend entering that expiration date for both the MMIC and verification expiration. Once that's completed, head to the customer's profile and enable the Tax Exempt feature. To learn more about MMIC and what this feature does, click here.

Customize which documents customers must upload 📄

Beyond medical recommendations and IDs, you can define your own document requirements for customers in Settings > Orders, under the Documents tab:

  • Create custom document types and set each one as required or optional per order type — delivery, pickup, or in-store.

  • Add instructions so customers know exactly what to upload. For example, require a selfie holding their ID before their first delivery order, or spell out which types of ID you accept.

  • Delete a document a customer uploaded (blurry photo, wrong image) from their customer profile — in Meadow Admin or in the iPad app.
