The patented optical comb comes permanently pre-attached to the front of your Luma device and is required to part your pet's coat and deliver light to the skin. While it is a fixed part of the core hardware, it can be unscrewed and replaced if a tooth is accidentally cracked or structurally damaged.
Step-by-Step Replacement Instructions
To install a new comb assembly, you will need a standard 1.5 mm Allen key.
Confirm the device is powered off and unplugged from the wall.
Lay the Luma flat on a clean, stable, well-lit surface.
Use the 1.5 mm Allen key to carefully loosen and back out the retaining screws holding the comb frame in place.
Gently slide the damaged comb off the front housing.
Align your new replacement factory comb and slot it into a clean, flush position over the diodes.
Re-insert the screws and tighten them gently and evenly using your Allen key.
⚠️ Important Warning: Apply very gentle pressure when tightening the screws. Over-tightening or cranking the Allen key too hard will instantly crack the protective plastic housing of the device.
