How to Clean and Sanitize Your Luma

Written by Atilio Valderrama

Keeping your Luma clean protects your pet's skin and preserves the clarity of the therapeutic light output zones.

The Cleaning Protocol

  1. Ensure the Luma device is powered off completely and disconnected from any charging cables prior to cleaning.

  2. Take a standard 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe and gently pass it between the teeth of the built-in optical comb, wiping down all glass surfaces and outer plastic areas that contact your pet.

  3. Allow the casing and optical emitting faces to air-dry completely before turning the device back on or placing it back inside its storage box.

⚠️ Prohibited Cleaning Actions

  • Never submerge, dip, or soak the Luma device in water, cleaning chemicals, or liquid solutions.

  • Never spray liquid cleaners or water directly onto the device shell, buttons, or charging port. Liquid tracking inside the button seams or ports will instantly cause permanent damage to the circuit board and void your hardware warranty protection.

  • Do not use harsh industrial solvents, bleach, or abrasive scrubs unless explicitly directed to do so by a MedcoVet corporate technician.
