Creating Your First Case with MedcoVet
The video is intended for veterinary clinics and covers the entire process from logging into the Medcovet portal to finalizing the case.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Introduction
1. Identify the Case Creator: In most clinics, a veterinary technician or a member of the customer success team creates and monitors cases for all clinicians.
Logging In
2. Log into the Medcovet Portal: If you don't know your username or password, reach out to support or use the "Forgot My Password" link.
Creating a New Case
3. Click "New Case": You'll be guided through a few screens to enter key information.
Prescriber Information
4. Choose a Prescriber: If your clinic has multiple prescribers, choose one for this case. This ensures they are responsible for the medical aspects.
Patient Information
5. Enter Patient Details: Include the patient's name, species, and condition being treated.
Pet Owner Information
6. Enter Pet Owner Details: This information is used to send a welcome email and an orientation video to the pet owner. It will also prompt them to download the Medcovet app.
App vs Paper
7. Choose Between App and Paper: The app experience is recommended, but paper instructions are also available for those who are not comfortable using apps.
Shipping Address
8. Enter Shipping Address: The Luma device should arrive two business days after you create the case. You can skip this step if you have a Luma device in your clinic.
Payment Information
9. Enter Payment Details: If the pet owner is using the app, you can skip this step and have them enter the payment information directly into the app.
Protocol Selection
10. Choose a Protocol: The Medcovet portal offers various standard treatment protocols. Choose one that best fits the condition being treated.
Protocol Customization
11. Customize the Protocol: You can modify the standard protocol based on the patient's size, weight, and severity of the condition.
Tracking Metrics
12. Enter Tracking Metrics: Specify two things for the pet owner to track while treating with the Luma. This will help you get status updates when the pet owner is not in the clinic.
Finalization
13. Click "Next": You've successfully created a case.
14. You're Done: You've successfully created a case for a pet owner.
