What is the Content Unlocker module all about?
With the Content Unlocker module, you can create QR codes, the scanning of which ensures that your event attendees are assigned a new user group tag and provided with special content. You can decide which content and additional features will be available after scanning the unique QR codes.
Generating codes in the module
Before you proceed to create the code, decide which modules, or specific content in modules, will be unlocked after scanning the QR code. Then navigate to the selected module and change its visibility for the specified user group. You can choose from the groups already available, or create a new one to which the participants of your event will be assigned, after scanning the corresponding QR code. You can add user groups in the Tag Database section - you can learn more about it in the article Tag Database - Application content management.
To generate a unique QR code for your event attendees, go to the Create tab and the Content Unlocker module. Then click on the icon + Create first QR Code:
You will be taken to the Scanning QR Code tab, where you need to fill in the information for the specific code:
The Code Name and Choose User Groups fields are mandatory fields. The user groups you select from the list are the groups to which event participants, after scanning the special QR code provided, will be automatically assigned.
Optionally, you can also enter content in the After Scan Text field, which will appear on the screen and inform users scanning the code what additional values have been made available to them.
In the Deeplink field, click Create:
Then, from the drop-down list, select which modules or content in the modules the user will be directly redirected to after scanning the code, and then save the changes:
To print the QR code and place it in your event area, right-click on the code icon and save the graphic to your computer:
If you want to add more codes that share different content, click the + New Code icon and follow the same steps as for the first code:
Scanning a QR code by an event participant
The App user, after entering the Contect Unlocker module in the side menu, can scan a special QR code by clicking QR Code Scanner at the bottom of the screen. After scanning, a message will appear with the predetermined text, and after clicking Show, the user will be taken to the specific location set in the deeplink:
At this point, the appropriate group tag will also be assigned to the user, and the set content of each module will be unlocked.
Examples of using the module
WORKSHOPS - the first example of using the Content Unlocker module at your event could be workshops. Place a special QR code at the entrance to the room, and participants who have pre-registered for a specific workshop session will be able to scan the code provided to them as they enter the room. This will cause participants to be assigned dedicated educational content, such as presentations, notes, workbooks or supplementary materials, for example. This will allow users to easily access them in the Mobile App during the workshop, as well as after the workshop.
CONFERENCE - another example is a conference where you can use the Content Unlocker module to deliver personalized content to different groups, such as speakers, exhibitors or attendees, for example. After scanning the QR code, speakers will be assigned to the group tag you created earlier and get access to the presentation or lecture materials. Exhibitors, on the other hand, can access information about booths and promotions, and attendees can receive session schedules and other useful information. The two groups can also get access to dedicated Feed Wall feeds for speakers or exhibitors, where they can ask organizational questions, and use this space for joint assistance or discussions. TRADE FAIRS - at trade fairs, QR codes can be scanned by visitors, allowing them to access exhibitor information, booth maps, product catalogs or marketing materials. There can also be quizzes hidden under QR codes, allowing visitors to collect special points in contests. This is a good way to promote exhibitors, who can donate special prizes for attendees.
VOLUNTEERS/SERVICE - if your event requires volunteers and service, the Content Unlocker module can help organize and provide personalized information for these groups. After scanning the QR code, these people will be assigned to the appropriate user groups, such as registration, stage staff or technical support, for example. The codes can be shared at an organizational meeting before or during the event. These people will also be given access to special content - a map of the venue, a schedule of changes or a contact for group coordinators. PUSH notifications can also be sent to this group during the event to inform them of sudden changes in the schedule or urgent tasks to be performed.
