If you're wondering how MV tracks sales and makes sure that your affiliates get the appropriate credit when someone buys using their link, the answer is through an affiliate cookie!

The affiliate cookie is a tracking code that activates when someone clicks on a link to your MV site that your affiliates share. This will track when that person purchases one of your products and will link it to your affiliate's account so that they are credited with the affiliate sale.

The lifetime of the affiliate tracking cookie is six (6) months or whenever the end-user clearers the cookies from their browser - whichever comes first.

As another note, the tracking cookie is specific to your account and not just the product that is being shared. This means that if someone clicks an affiliate link for your product but decides to buy a different product than what was promoted to them, the affiliate would still receive credit for that purchase - so long as the product purchased was turned 'active' for affiliate tracking.

"How do I grow my list/increase my sales" is one of the most challenging business puzzles, and one of the most popular answers to that puzzle is an affiliate program. In our Grow with Affiliates toolkit (included in all paid plans), you'll get advice on running your first short term affiliate promotion and pros/cons of a short term vs an ongoing affiliate promo.
