How to Integrate Hello Audio with MV

Hello Audio is a great option for anyone looking to host a private podcast feed and with our integration, you can directly connect your MV product with a specific feed in your Hello Audio account and automatically subscribe users to your product feed using Actions.

How to Connect Your Hello Audio Account to Your MV Account

  1. To locate the Hello Audio integration area, click on Integrations in your admin menu and select Other.

  2. Under the Hello Audio option, click 'Connect to Hello Audio'.

  3. If you are already logged into your Hello Audio account, MV will automatically connect to your account. If you are not currently logged into your Hello Audio account, you will be redirected to Hello Audio and asked to login. Once logged in, you'll be redirected back to your MV account.

  4. Once your MV account is connected to Hello Audio, you'll see a reference on the integration area that confirms you are connected to Hello Audio.


How to Connect Your Podcast Feed to Your Product

Connecting your podcast feed to a specific product will allow you to automatically add users who join the product as listeners to the podcast feed via Actions. It will also make it easy for the user to add the podcast feed to their desired podcast player right from with the product.

  1. Open the product you wish to connect to your podcast feed and scroll down just beyond the welcome message area until you see the 'Hello Audio Feed' option.

  2. Select the specific feed that you wish to connect to your product.

  3. Next, head over to your Actions area to create the action required to automatically subscriber product users to your podcast feed.

  4. Under the section for the product you just connected with your feed, create your action by selecting who should be subscribed to the feed in Hello Audio under the 'How' column. If you want all users of the product to be subscribed to the feed, select the default '(any)'.

  5. Under the 'Do this...' column, select 'Add User to Hello Audio Feed' and select the same feed that you connected to your product.


Congrats 🎉! You've now successfully connected your Hello Audio feed to your product and have automatically added your product users as listeners to the feed over in Hello Audio which gives them permission to listen to the specific audio feed you've selected.

With the feed now connected to your product and the user added as a listener, a podcast feed module will be displayed at the bottom of your module list within your product. When opened, this module will lead the user to a Hello Audio page that allows them to connect the feed to their preferred podcast player.

With the podcast feed now connected to their desired podcast player, your user will be able to listen to your feed by accessing their podcast player.

What if I add the Hello Audio integration after I already have users in the product?

Then you have a little more legwork ahead of you, but not too much.

Log into your MV admin, and go to the product page.

Click on the number total under "Users" for that product, and it will open up a list of users with access to that product.

Click on the "CSV" link under the search button and it'll automatically download a CSV file of those users.

Next log into your Hello Audio, and go to the show you'd like to give these users access to (the one associated with this product).

Go to the "Listeners & Links" tab, and click the +Add Listeners button.

Next, open the CSV of users with access to the product associated with this private podcast, that you downloaded from your MV, and copy the email addresses only.

If you don't want to trigger an email to those users yet, be sure the "Send introductory email" toggle is off. It should look like this.

Paste your user email addresses into the box, and click add. And you're all set! If you had "send introductory invitation email" turned off when you added your users, you'll need to let them know to add the new podcast feed into their platform of choice.

To do that, email them the Universal link that you can find on the main page for your show. And you're done!
