Can I Merge User Accounts in MemberVault?

If you have a user who signs up for your products using multiple email addresses and asks to merge their account, know that you can do this in a couple of easy steps!

First, we suggest confirming with your users the exact account they'd like to use moving forward. Once you receive their confirmation, you can then find the user by going to Members > List. To find a specific user, you can search for their email in the search field. Additionally, identify the primary account by considering which one holds more significant data or Event Points (EP). Designate the secondary account for temporary email adjustments if necessary.

To modify the secondary account, consider changing its email to a variation by appending a "+tag" (e.g., theiremail+1@gmail.com). This approach frees up the preferred email address for reassignment to the primary account.

Once you find the user, click on the Edit icon to the right of their name.

Next, grant them access to each product they own to that particular account by clicking on the checkbox next to the product's name. Then, click the 'Save Member' button.

That's it! Your user will see all the products they have access to under their preferred account the next time they log in. While you can technically delete their old/unused account, this would cause their user data to be deleted including their EPs and quiz questions so leaving the account intact would be the best course of action here!

If you wish to provide users with their preferred email while retaining all EP data, consider modifying the secondary account email as described earlier. This ensures data integrity while allowing account preference updates. Always verify changes post-update to ensure accurate configuration and member satisfaction.
