Total Metric Boxes

Learn everything about the total metric boxes you see at the top of your Mentionlytics dashboards.

At the top of the Overview Dashboard, you will find the Total Metric Boxes section. These metric boxes provide a quick summary of your social listening data and help you instantly understand the overall performance and activity of your selected Mention Trackers.

The metrics displayed are based on your selected trackers, filters, sources, and date range.

Total Mentions

The Total Mentions box displays the total number of mentions collected for your selected trackers across all supported platforms.

Inside this metric box, you can also view:

  • Total mentions

  • Unique mentions

  • Breakdown between:

    • Social mentions

    • Web mentions

  • Number of unique users

  • Number of websites where mentions were found

This metric helps you understand the total volume of conversations surrounding your brand, competitors, or monitored topics.

Social Reach

The Social Reach box estimates the potential audience size that saw your collected mentions across social media platforms.

The metric includes:

  • Total social reach

  • Unique social reach

  • Platform-by-platform reach breakdown

Supported platforms may include:

  • Twitter/X

  • Facebook

  • YouTube

  • Instagram

  • TikTok

  • Reddit

  • Other supported social sources

Important Note: Social Reach is an estimated metric based on follower counts and audience visibility provided by each platform.

Social Engagement

The Social Engagement box displays the total interactions generated by your monitored social mentions.

This includes engagement actions such as:

  • Likes

  • Comments

  • Shares

  • Retweets/Reposts

  • Views

  • Other platform-specific interactions

You can also view:

  • Total engagement

  • Unique engagement

  • Engagement breakdown by interaction type

This metric helps you measure how actively audiences interact with your mentions.

Sentiment Analysis

The Sentiment Analysis box provides an overview of the emotional tone of your collected mentions.

Mentions are automatically categorized into:

  • Positive

  • Negative

  • Neutral

For each category, you can view:

  • Total number of mentions

  • Percentage distribution

This helps you quickly understand public perception and overall sentiment trends regarding your brand, competitors, or monitored topics.
