Follow these simple steps and start receiving mentions:
1. Log in to your Mentionlytics account or sign up for a free trial
2. Go to the “Settings” tab and select “Notifications”. Then click the “Add to Slack” button.
3. Choose your Mention Tracker Category.
4. Uncheck the “All Mention Tracker” checkbox to choose specific category items.
Click the “Add Slack” button.
5. Choose a slack channel to receive mentions and click the “Allow” button at the bottom of the popup window.
6. You will get a success message and the popup will close. You are set to go! Your Slack notification channel is added!
Important Note for Private Channels
To add the Slack bot to a private Slack channel, follow these steps:
Create the Mentionlytics integration as described in the previous steps.
In the channel chat, type @mentionlytics to invite the bot to the private channel.
Once the invitation has been sent, the bot will become a member of the private channel.
You are set to go!
