Mentionlytics allows you to stay informed through multiple notification channels. You can receive scheduled email reports, real-time Slack notifications, browser push notifications, and AI-powered anomaly alerts to ensure you never miss important activity.
Navigate to Settings → Notifications to configure your notification preferences.
Email Notifications
This panel handles two different things, listed separately:
New mentions notifications — a report of newly collected mentions, on a schedule you choose.
Anomaly notifications — an alert sent only when mention volume for a tracker rises unusually fast.
The table shows every notification in the workspace, not only your own, which is why Created by is the first column. Anyone with access can edit or delete any row.
Create a notification
Go to Settings → Notifications.
In the Email Notifications panel, click +. A dialog opens, titled Edit Notification even for a new one.
Choose a Notification type — New Mentions or Anomaly Detection. The rest of the form changes to match.
Fill in the fields, then click Save.
New Mentions notification settings
Option | Description |
New Mentions | Receive reports containing newly collected mentions. |
Send To | One or more users in your workspace. |
Mention Tracker | Choose one or multiple trackers to include in the report. |
Email Frequency | As soon as it's detected, Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Disabled. Choose Disabled to pause a notification without deleting it and losing its settings. |
Include Mentions Up To | Specify how far back Mentionlytics should collect mentions before generating the report. For example, use 24 hours ago for a daily report. |
Send Email When No Mentions Are Found | Enable this option if you want to receive a report even when no new mentions are detected. |
Next Run | Displays the next scheduled delivery date and time. You can modify the schedule using the calendar icon. |
Include Attachment | Choose whether your email should include a report attachment. Depending on your workspace, available options may include No attachment (text only), PDF report, Excel report, or Custom report templates. |
Included Email Sections | Customize the content of your report by selecting one or more sections. Available sections include Overview Stats, SIA Insights, Most Important Mentions, and Tracker Names. |
Filter Preset | Apply a saved filter before generating the report. This allows you to send reports that only include specific mentions, such as Positive mentions, Negative mentions, Tagged mentions, or Mentions from selected sources. |
Additional Email Recipients | Send reports to external recipients using CC (visible recipients) or BCC (hidden recipients). |
Send Now | Click Send Now to immediately generate and send the report using your current settings. |
Anomaly Detection notification settings
Choose Anomaly Detection and the schedule fields disappear — there is nothing to schedule, because the alert fires only when something unusual happens. You still choose Send to and Mention Tracker/Keyword, then set which channels to watch, how big a change counts as an anomaly, how often you are willing to be alerted, and the language of the AI summary.
Anomaly notifications have no Send Now, because there is nothing to send until a spike occurs, and no frequency, attachment or filter preset — those columns stay empty in the list.
Every setting, and how to tune them, is covered in Anomaly Detection.
Edit, pause or delete
Use the pencil icon on any row to reopen its settings, and the red × to delete it. To stop a report temporarily without losing its configuration, open it and set Frequency of e-mail to Disabled.
Slack Notifications
Slack notifications deliver Mentionlytics alerts directly to your Slack workspace.
To connect Slack:
Click Add to Slack.
Authorize your workspace.
Choose the destination channel.
Change what a channel receives
Click the pencil on a row to open Slack Integration:
Screenshot 08Slack Integration dialogLeave “Receive each mention separately” off unless you want one Slack message per mention.
Mention Tracker Category
Which category of trackers feeds this channel.
All Mention Trackers
Send everything in that category rather than a chosen subset.
Receive Social Intelligence Advices
Include SIA's AI-written advice alongside the mentions.
Receive each mention separately
Post one Slack message per mention instead of a grouped update. Only sensible for low-volume trackers — on a busy brand tracker this will flood the channel.
Receive only Negative Sentiment Mentions
Post negative mentions only. Useful for a support or escalation channel.
Click Update to apply, or the red × on the row to disconnect the channel.
SIA Alert Settings
SIA watches your whole account for signs of a reputation problem.
These settings apply account-wide, not to one tracker.
Available settings include:
Summarization Language
The language SIA writes its AI-generated summaries in. Most major languages are available.
Mention Quota Alert
Warns you as you approach your monthly mention limit. Choose 60%, 75%, 90% or 100%.
Crisis Alerts
Enable Send SIA crisis alerts to administrators to notify administrators when a potential crisis is detected.
You can configure:
Crisis Alert Threshold
The minimum increase in mentions, over a given period, measured against the last 24 hours' average. Minimum value 0; the default is 20.
Crisis Detection Sensitivity
How readily SIA treats a rise as a crisis. Higher sensitivity catches smaller, earlier signals and sends more alerts; lower sensitivity waits for a clearer pattern.
Minimum hours between alerts
SIA will not send a follow-up alert until this many hours have passed since the first. Any value from 0 to 24; the default is 3.
Other emails to send crisis alerts to
Additional addresses beyond your administrators — an agency contact, or an on-call address.
Only check for Negative Sentiment Mentions
Alert only on a sudden increase in negative mentions, ignoring neutral and positive ones. Leave it off if a surge of any kind is worth knowing about; a viral positive moment often needs a response too.
Tuning. The threshold and the sensitivity trade early warning against noise. If you are getting alerts you don't act on, raise the threshold before you lower the sensitivity — you will keep detecting real events, just later and less often.
Push Notifications
Push notifications appear in your browser while you are working, without an email.
Register a browser
There is no Add device button. Sign in to Mentionlytics in the browser you want notifications in and accept the permission prompt when it appears. That browser then shows up in this list. If you dismissed or blocked the prompt, re-enable notifications for Mentionlytics in your browser's site settings and reload.
Manage registered browsers
Each row shows the operating system and approximate location — taken from the IP address at the time of registration — with the browser name underneath. Use the toggle to mute a device without unregistering it, and the red × to remove it.
Registration is per browser and per machine, so signing in from a laptop and a desktop, or from two browsers, creates separate rows. It is worth removing old ones occasionally.
You can enable, disable, or remove each registered device individually.
