Connecting your WhatsApp account to Mercu

Learn how to communicate with candidates through a branded WhatsApp experience by connecting your WhatsApp account to Mercu.

To send WhatsApp messages under your brand to candidates, we need to connect your company's WhatsApp account to Mercu.

This process requires Account Admin privileges in Mercu and access to your company’s WhatsApp account, which is typically managed by your social media team. Their involvement is usually necessary.

Important

  • Please do not skip any step.

  • You can either use your own WhatsApp number or contact us, and we will provide you with a phone number. If you choose to use your own phone number, please note that it must not currently be active on WhatsApp or the WhatsApp Business App.

Steps

1. Go to Mercu → Account → WhatsApp

2. Click on Connect to Facebook Business. This opens a pop-up modal.

3. Log in with your personal Facebook Account

4. Click on Get started

5. Check the permissions and click on Continue

6. Choose your Meta Business Account

If you don’t have a Meta account, you can create a new one right away, just choose Create a Meta Business Account in a drop down menu

7. Create a new WhatsApp Business Account

  • Choose Create a new WhatsApp Business Account in a drop down menu and fill in the details

  • Note: These details will be visible to your customers on WhatsApp

8. Add the phone number and choose a verification method (SMS or Phone call)

9. Enter a 6-digit code you just received and click Next

That’s it! Your number is registered with WhatsApp and connected to Mercu.
