You control how your content appears when you display it on any large screen (a DOOH screen or internal LCD screen)

To show Miappi on a digital display screen you’ll need to do two things:

  1. Use a digital screen that has an internet connection and a browser, that might be a browser integral to the screen or via a connected device. We test most thoroughly on PC and Mac running Chrome and Firefox, but our software has also been used extensively on solutions using Ubuntu and Chromium.

  2. Within the Miappi dashboard, you have two options for how your content is displayed which is Website and Display. The latter is especially formatted for digital screens. On various different pages you can click on the Display option which will appear at the very top of your Curate page and then select the View button in the top right-hand corner. Clicking View will open a browser window and show your content in the best way for digital signage or DOOH screens. (You can change your display template in Customize).

As a note, with each template featured in the Display version of your Miappi dashboard, there are limitations when it comes to the number of posts you currently have shown in the Curate page.

A number of posts ranging from 10 and above for each template are required for these to properly function, and on initial load will duplicate each of these posts to keep the display functioning until more content loads/is available.

It's also important to note that, some of our templates allow text posts and some do not which will also affect the functionality of the template you choose. Some of our templates such as Grid are more flexible and allow you to design the appearance and order of your display by changing both the rows and columns.

To make content visible on the display screen, login to your Miappi dashboard, go to the Curate page and hover over an image, you will see various icons, toggle between the 'Tick/Cross' icons to show/hide it on the display. A post set to 'show' will be illuminated while a hidden post will be grayed out.

Using the Display Settings page you can control:

Animation Styles:

  • Select how your Display social wall looks as it transitions between one set of posts to another.

Number of tile rows and columns:

  • Decide what size grid you’d like your content to appear in, by default this is set to 3 x 3. (These settings are only available on our Slide and Grid templates)

Spacing between tiles:

  • How close your Display tiles appear to one another.

(This setting is only available on our Slide, Grid and Glide templates)

Frequency of tile changes:

  • How often the grid transitions between one set of posts to the next.

  • Frequency and duration of pop-ups posts

  • Frequency and duration of full page adverts

  • Video auto play settings

Source of the data being displayed:

  • Who said that? Display the original poster’s name, handle and profile picture on text based content.

As standard, Display mode features Miappi branding (a header/footer and a full screen advert that runs periodically). Enterprise customers have access to a white label version of Display mode and can upload custom headers and footers.

Setting a content date range:

  • You can set different periods (7, 14 and 30 days) or you can set a custom period. Here, you are also able to control which social feeds are shown live on your Display e.g. Instagram only. You can control this by deselecting any icons you wish to hide.

Displaying content in public:

Miappi have official prior permission from Instagram to display the content that is collected within the platform (they approved our use case during the app review process), however, we always advise clients to seek independent legal advice from their own team.

It is also good practice to seek explicit consent from the content creators directly, you can begin this process within the Miappi platform by following the steps contained within the published article here - Miappi Engage for Instagram.

Display aspect ratio:

We test most thoroughly on 9:16 and 16:9, however, our Display is very responsive. You are also given the option to change your Display to either a Landscape or Portrait view in Customize Display Settings under the Configuration panel. Please be aware that any changes made to the aspect ratio and view can affect the look of your Header/Footer elements.

We always recommend that extensive testing is done ahead of the event, this is to also ensure that any potential development work required from Miappi's team can be discussed and planned in advance.

Miappi has a wide network of digital display partners to help you with particular signage executions. Please get in touch with one of our account managers for further details and assistance.
