Graphics being imported are not stored in the MicrovellumFactory.sdf database. Selecting the MicrovellumFactory.sdf database tells the Database Management Utility where to locate the Graphics folder where the Graphics being imported are stored.

  1. Select IMPORT from Selected Source to Current Configuration > browse to the file location containing the MicrovellumFactory.sdf to be imported > select the MicrovellumFactory.sdf.

  2. Select the Graphic(s) tab.

  3. The middle panel is populated with data from the database selected in Step 1. Select the Graphic(s) to be imported from this central panel.

  4. Once the desired Graphic(s) are highlighted, select the arrow to lock the selection.

  5. When pulling from an archival database, it is unlikely that everything in the external database needs to be imported. The middle panel in the image above allows you to select only the items you wish to import. The items specified appear in the panel on the right. Items can be selected from multiple categories at once.

  6. Select Transfer.

Resolving Duplicates

Unlike the process when importing other types of data, there is no Resolve Duplicate Names window when importing just Graphics. New images that have been added to the Graphics folder being imported are automatically appended to the Graphics folder of the main Microvellum Data folder.
