Using Solids from 3rd Party Software with SMA (Overview)

T
Written by Tim Sublette

Microvellum software contains the ability to consume 3D solids produced by other software applications, analyze them, and convert them to Microvellum products. This functionality is known as Solid Model Analyzer (SMA). The actual import function is found in the AutoCAD segment of Toolbox 2019 and AutoCAD 2019 Standard versions. Both of these versions support the import of many different types of 3D solids, among these are 3D solids produced by Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, Autodesk 3DS Studio Max, and many others.

Once the Microvellum product has been produced, it may be processed as any product taken straight from your library.

See Using Solids from 3rd Party Software with SMA (Tutorials) in the Microvellum Knowledge Network for the procedure to use when importing solids from third-party software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
