The Photo Gallery is the central hub for sharing and viewing school photos in Minga. It provides a dedicated space for your community to share images from events, clubs, and campus life. Owners and Admins can control gallery access and posting permissions to ensure a safe and organized environment.

Gallery Preferences
Owners and Managers can toggle the Photo Gallery on or off and define which roles have permission to upload photos.

Navigate to Settings from the main menu.
Select the Settings tab.
Under the Photo Gallery Preferences heading, click the downward-facing arrow to expand options.
Toggle the Enable Photo Gallery switch to the desired state.
If the toggle is OFF, the Photo Gallery is hidden from all users.
Minga preserves all existing images even when the gallery is disabled.
If the toggle is ON, select which roles can upload content under Allow the following roles to add photos to the gallery
Owners and Managers always retain upload permissions.
Accessing the Photo Gallery
You can access the Photo Gallery by selecting the Photo Gallery tab along the top of your screen or by click any image in the Photo Gallery bar at the top of the Home Feed.
Adding Photos
Users with upload permissions can add single or multiple images to the gallery and tag People, Groups, or Events.

Navigate to the Photo Gallery.
Click Add Photo.
Click the Upload photo here box or drag files directly into the area.
Enter a description in the Description field.
Apply tags to the photo:
Tag People: Type a name to select a Student or Teacher.
Tag a Group: Type the name of a specific Group.
Tag an Event: Select an existing Event from your school calendar.
Click Publish to finish.
Good to Know: If you tag a specific Group in the photo it will publish to the Groups' Photo Gallery and not the main Photo Gallery.
Viewing and Deleting Photos
Clicking a photo in the Photo Gallery will expand it for viewing.
To delete a photo, click on the trashcan in the top right. Users who uploaded a photo can delete their photo but only Owners and Manager can delete any photo in the gallery.

This will populate a filtered gallery of all the photos that contain the same tag.

Can I edit the description or add tags after I have uploaded my photo?
No, the only way to add tags or change the description of a photo is to delete it and re-upload with the relevant information.
Will I lose my photos if I turn the Photo Gallery off?
Minga preserves all photos and data even if you turn the Photo Gallery off in the Settings menu; the images will reappear exactly as they were when you toggle the gallery back on.
Can I tag an event that hasn't happened yet?
No, you can only tag an existing event in the Photo Gallery by typing the event name into the Tag an Event field during the photo upload process.
