Overview
The courier cage validation feature automatically guides users to place parcels in the correct cage for the designated courier, helping prevent parcel mix-ups and losses. For example, if a FedEx tracking number is scanned, the system will prompt the user to place the parcel in the FedEx cage. It will also log an audit trail comment in the order history, confirming the parcel was placed in the correct cage. On the web-based version of Mintsoft, there is a new Cage Validation feature, Courier Cages also work alongside the Access Mintsoft apps Scan to Despatch feature.
Supported Couriers
Courier cage validation works by matching the tracking number stored in Mintsoft with the barcode label from the courier. In some cases, the formats might not match exactly, which can prevent the validation from working as expected. If that happens, some additional development work may be needed to support that specific courier.
The following couriers are validated and supported for use with the Courier Cage Validation feature:
AnPost.
Deutsche Post.
DHL Express.
DHL Parcel / DHL E-Commerce UK.
DPD IE.
DPD UK.
Evri.
Fastway (via Scurri).
Fedex.
GLS IE.
PPI.
The PPI courier requires the use of the Order ID barcode tag when creating the courier label for Courier Cage Validation to work instead of the Order Number barcode tag.
Royal Mail.
Additional couriers may be supported outside of this list but have not yet been tested.
