What happens if folders or files are deleted on the source drive?

Updated this week

When a Knowledge Connector is set up (e.g., with Google Drive or Microsoft Sharepoint), and its content indexed for le Chat, itโ€™s helpful to understand how changes at the source, especially deletions, are handled.

Synchronization of deletions

Our platform keeps the indexed data in sync with your source drive.

๐Ÿ”‘ We closely monitor events in your connected source drive, including creation, modification, and deletion of files and folders. When an item that was previously indexed is deleted at the source, we detect the change and apply the deletion to the index.

This synchronization process ensures that:

  • If files or folders are deleted at the source, they are also removed from our index for that Knowledge Connector.

  • As a result, le Chat can no longer access or surface information from those deleted items.

Synchronization frequency

We replicate changes on a regular cadence so le Chat uses the most up-to-date information. Exact timing can vary, but updates are typically processed every 10 minutes.
