The impact of disconnecting a Connector depends whether it is a simple Connector (first-party / third-party) or a Knowledge Connector.
Disconnecting simple Connectors
For Featured Connectors like Gmail or Google Calendar, or any third-party Connector, no data is stored on our servers: le Chat gets only access at the time of the request.
Disconnecting simply revokes our authorization to make those real-time requests on your behalf.
📌 If you disconnect such Connector, all later requests to that service from le Chat will fail. Additionally, because we never stored a persistent copy of your email or calendar content, there is no data to delete.
Disconnecting Knowledge Connectors
Knowledge Connectors (e.g. Google Drive or Microsoft Sharepoint), index the selected files and folders and store that index on our servers.
Disconnecting a Knowledge Connector has different effects depending on who performs the action:
An individual user disconnects their own Connector: Disconnecting via
My Connectors
removes that user’s ability to use the Connector in le Chat. The indexed data is not deleted by this action, because the organization-level Connector and index may still be active for others. An organization administrator disconnects the Connector (
Admin Controls
): Disabling or disconnecting a Knowledge Connector fromAdmin Controls
has organization-wide consequences and triggers data deletion.
🚨 When an Organization Admin disconnects a Knowledge Connector via Admin Controls
:
Access to that integration (e.g., Google Drive or Sharepoint) is immediately removed for all users in the organization.
The indexed data on our servers associated with that Connector is scheduled for permanent deletion.
Re-enableing this integration requires setting it up again, including re-authorizing and waiting for content to be re-indexed.
This cannot be undone. The index must be rebuilt from the source if you reconnect the Connector.
