How do I assign seats to my members?

Assigning seats lets you control who has access to premium products like le Chat Team / Enterprise or Mistral Code within your Organization.

🔑 Seat assignment is available on Team and Enterprise plans. Only users with the Admin role can assign or reassign seats.

Steps to assign seats

1. Navigate to the Members panel

From the Admin Console, click on Members in the left-hand navigation menu to open the user management page.

2. Locate the user

In the members list, find the person you want to assign seats to. You can scroll, search by name/email, or filter by role.

3. Assign seats

Choose the products you want to assign seats for (e.g., le Chat Team (1), Mistral Code (2)) and set the dropdown to Active. Optionally, you can also assign a role to the member (3) (🔎 see this guide for more details).

📌 Conversely, you can revoke a member’s access by setting the product dropdown to Inactive.

🚨 You can only assign seats that are still available (number is displayed at the top of each column). If none are left, you’ll need to purchase more. Contact your account manager or reach out to support.

4. Changes are applied immediately

Seat changes apply immediately. The member will see the new product available the next time they sign in (or immediately if they’re already signed in, after a page refresh).
