Manage users

Updated this week

Whether you’re onboarding a small team or a full organization, user management in Mistral AI is designed to be straightforward and secure.

This guide covers how to access the Members panel, assign seats, set roles, and remove members.

πŸ”‘ User management is available on Team & Enterprise plans. Only Organization Admins can invite or remove members, and assign roles and seats.

Open Members in the Admin Console

Go to Admin Console β†’ Members to manage invites, roles, and product seats.

Assign seats

Seats control who can access paid products like le Chat Team/Enterprise or Mistral Code.

  1. In Admin Console β†’ Members, find the user (search by name or email if needed).

  2. In the product columns (e.g., le Chat Team (1), Mistral Code (2)), set the dropdown to Active.

  3. Changes apply immediately.

πŸ“Œ To revoke access, set the product dropdown to Inactive.

🚨 You can only assign seats that are available. If none are left, upgrade your plan or reach out to support.

πŸ”Ž For more details, see How do I assign seats to my users?. Need more seats? Contact your account manager or reach out to support.

Set roles

In the same panel, assign the user’s Organization role (3).

Organization roles control admin privileges:

  • Admin: full administration (invites, billing, security, org settings)

  • Billing: subscriptions and invoices only

  • Member: product usage only, no admin privileges

Remove a member

Removing a member instantly revokes their access to the Organization. Their created resources remain available to others.

Next steps

Now that you know how to manage users, the next step is to create Workspaces and assign members to control their access to resources more granularly.
