If your team elects to move forward with MNTN Multi-Touch, follow the below steps to upload your multi-touch ads within your MNTN account.

In these instructions, you'll encounter the phrase Multi-Touch group. Essentially, a multi-touch group is a collection or 'group' of ad sizes that live together within the MNTN platform. Having a multi-touch group with various ad sizes within it is essential for your campaign to access sufficient inventory, thus enabling you to have the most effective reach possible.

Uploading Multi-Touch Ads within Your Campaign Shell

💡 Note: If you launched your campaign without Multi-Touch ads from the start, you cannot add Multi-Touch ads once live. You will have to launch a new campaign shell.

When uploading Multi-Touch ads to your campaign, you can choose from several options:

Start With a Template: Leverage MNTN Ad Builder's pre-built templates.

Start With a Blank Ad: Leverage the MNTN Ad Builder to build your multi-touch group from scratch.

Select from My Creative: Choose a Multi-Touch group from your Creative Library.

Upload Static Creative: Upload Multi-Touch ads built outside of the MNTN platform.

Start with a Template

By choosing the Start with a Template option, your team can access MNTN Ad Builder's pre-designed templates, allowing you to incorporate rich media like video (your content or via MNTN's Shutterstock integration), dynamic product carousels, countdown timers, and more.

Once you've selected your desired template and adjusted three general ad sizes, you can either:

  • Save: Save the Multi-Touch group to your Creative Library to edit or use in the future.

  • Apply to Campaign: Attach the multi-touch group to your campaign shell.

💡 Note: More details on the Start with a Template option can be seen here.

Start with a Blank Ad

You can utilize MNTN's Ad Builder without using a pre-existing template. The Start with a Blank Ad option enables complete customization of your multi-touch group.

If you proceed with the Start with a Blank Ad option, create your three general ad sizes. After generating all ad sizes, you can:

  • Save: Save the Multi-Touch group to your Creative Library to edit or use in the future.

  • Apply to Campaign: Attach the multi-touch group to your campaign shell.

💡 Note: More details on the Start with a Blank Ad option can be found here.

Select from My Creative

Maybe you previously uploaded a multi-touch group that you now want to use. The Select from My Creative option allows you to attach a multi-touch group found within your Creative Library.

If proceeding with Select from My Creative option, click the Add Group button to attach the desired multi-touch creative to your Campaign.

If your multi-touch groups are all attached to campaigns, consider duplicating your multi-touch group.

💡Note: More details on your Creative Library can be found here.

Uploading Static Creative

The Upload Static Creative option enables your team to upload static ads created outside of the MNTN platform. This is often chosen when you wish to use ads created for different campaigns or when your internal creative team prefers working with their own creative tools and systems.

If uploading your own multi-touch ads, there are a few requirements your ads must adhere to:

  • Your multi-touch group must contain at least 3 ad sizes.

  • Your multi-touch group must contain the 300x250 ad size.

  • Your static ads cannot incorporate rich media. More details can be found here if leveraging GIFs.

  • Each uploaded static ad's file size must be under 200kb.

  • Only ad sizes used across all active creative groups will be served.

🧠 Pro Tip: Though you are only required to run with 3 ad sizes, we recommend running with the following 6 ad sizes to ensure you have access to the most popular inventory: 300x250, 728x90, 320x50, 300x50, 160x600, 300x600.

Duplicating Multi-Touch Ads

Since multi-touch groups must maintain a 1:1 relationship with video ads in your campaigns, duplicating them offers a straightforward way to use the same multi-touch group either within the same campaign or in a different campaign shell altogether.

1️⃣ Navigate to the Multi-Touch Creative step of your campaign shell.

2️⃣ Select the blue + Add New button in the top-right corner of the page.

🧠 Pro tip: We recommend renaming your creative a name that is easy to reference in reporting. Recommended naming convention: [month uploaded]_[campaign name where appended]_[creative distinction: promo, CTA, theme]_mt

6️⃣ After renaming, click Save in the pop-up's bottom right corner.

7️⃣ Your creative will undergo an approvals process, with a status indicator. To better understand where the creatives are in the approval process, check out the below.

8️⃣ After approval, link your multi-touch group to an uploaded video ad.

💡Note: If choosing to run with MNTN Multi-Touch, you must upload a video ad for every multi-touch group you'd like to run and vice versa. The two creative types must live in a 1:1 relationship.

9️⃣ If using multiple creative groups, adjust their weighting on the Video Creative step.

Understanding Your Creative Status

To set your Multi-Touch ads live within your campaign shell, your ads must undergo five status changes after you attach the multi-touch group to your campaign shell:

Incomplete

If your Multi-Touch group reads Incomplete, you must input your tracking parameters: visit URL, visit tracking, and should it apply to your team, impression tracking on its linked video ad.

💡 Note: To complete this step, check out our Creative Tracking collection.

In Review

After completing your tracking details, your Multi-Touch Creative will enter the In Review status.

After completing your tracking details, your multi-touch group proceeds to the 'In Review' stage. Here, our Platform Experience team manually reviews all creatives to ensure they comply with our Creative Content Guidelines before serving on networks and exchanges.

💡Note: Need to expedite your creative review? Contact our Platform Experience team to expedite your creative review within business hours.

Approved

Once Approved, you'll need to link your multi-touch group to a video ad to finalize your creative group setup and make them eligible for serving.

💡Note: Not seeing any eligible video ads for linking? You may need to upload a new video ad or wait for your video ad to undergo the approval process.

Ready

Once your creatives have been linked and are in the Ready stage, you will then be able to set your ads live by assigning a weight to your creative group, which will be done on the linked video ad.

Live

If your creatives read Live, your ads are being served to your targeted users. You can monitor its performance and success directly from the reporting dashboard.
