When you are standing next to a bike, you can start a ride in two ways:
Option 1: Scan to unlock
Tap Scan to unlock at the bottom of the home screen
Point your phone at the QR code on the handlebars or rear of the bike
After a few seconds, you’ll hear the bike unlock
Option 2: Start from the map
Tap the bike icon on the map
Select Start ride
If the bike doesn’t unlock
If the wheel lock does not open, end the ride and try again
If the issue continues, select a different bike nearby
Refunds for failed starts
If your ride fails to start or there is an issue immediately after unlocking, end the ride and you will be automatically refunded for any costs incurred, provided:
The bike has not travelled more than 150 metres, and
The ride lasted less than 3 minutes
Make sure notifications are enabled for MOBY Move in your phone settings so you receive refund confirmations.
We kindly ask you report the issue to us on the final screen after ending your ride so we can send someone to fix the bike faster.
Before you ride
Before starting, please take a moment to check that the bike is in good working condition (tyres, brakes, and saddle).
