Ending your ride correctly is essential to avoid extra charges or parking penalties. MOBY bikes must always be parked at approved public bike stands inside a green parking zone, as shown in the app.

1. Where you can end your ride (Green Zones)

You can only end your ride in a green parking zone.

  • Green zones are the only areas where parking is allowed

  • Within a green zone, you must use a public bike stand, marked with a (P) symbol on the app map

  • When you start a ride, the app will show nearby public bike stands within the green zone

2. How to park correctly

To end your ride, you must:

  1. Park the bike at a public bike stand only

  2. Secure the bike firmly to the stand

    • E-bikes: use the combination lock shown in the app

    • Pedal bikes: use the cable lock

  3. Ensure the bike is not obstructing pedestrians, paths, or vehicles

If a stand is full:

  • Find another nearby stand shown on the map

  • You may tether one MOBY bike to another that is already parked correctly

What is not allowed

  • Locking bikes to poles, fences, lamp posts, railings, walls, or gates

  • Leaving the bike unlocked or not secured to a stand

  • Parking outside a green parking zone

3. End the ride in the app

Once the bike is parked and locked:

  1. Tap “End my ride” in the app

  2. The app will prompt you to take a parking photo

You must remain beside the bike with the app open during this process, as GPS and internet connection are required.

Do not walk away until the ride has fully ended in the app. Leaving the ride active may result in additional charges.

4. Submit a clear parking photo

Your ride will only end after a valid parking photo is submitted.

Your photo must clearly show:

  • The bike locked to a public bike stand

  • The lock fastened and visible

If the photo is unclear or does not show correct parking, the ride may not end and a €30 parking fine may apply. MOBY uses automated checks to detect incorrect parking.

5. Confirmation and receipt

After submitting a valid photo:

  • You will receive in-app confirmation that the ride has ended

  • Only then should you walk away from the bike

  • Your receipt is generated automatically and will be emailed to you shortly after

6. Penalties and enforcement

  • Incorrect parking or failure to lock the bike properly may result in a €30 penalty

  • Repeated parking violations or invalid photo submissions may lead to account restrictions or suspension

7. Quick checklist

✔ Park only at a public bike stand
✔ Stand must be inside a green parking zone
✔ Lock the bike securely to the bike stand
✔ Tap End my ride
✔ Submit a clear parking photo
✔ Wait for confirmation before leaving
